First of all I would like to say thank-you for the privilege of working with your children this year. I am truly excited about the new school year. I like to have an open classroom so you are invited to visit and volunteer anytime. I can always use an extra helping hand. I also want you to feel comfortable in asking any questions about the going ons in our classroom. As a parent myself, sometimes I have felt that I couldn't ask a question to a teacher, but I do NOT want you to feel that way at all. I also welcome your feedback and suggestions regarding your child since you are judge of him or her. I feel it is important to have open lines of communication between us.
I also may have homework for you once in a while and I hope that is okay. This will involve things like practical applications of the lessons we are learning at school. For example, for the math unit when we talk about weighing items, i would like you to help your child weigh things on the supermarket scale or on a scale at home. I amy send your child to interview you for a writing prompt on a family tradition, favorite book of yours, or funny moment in your life.
Your first assignment is to write down concerns and goals you have for your child this year. Please feel free to write down anything you think is important regarding your child. If you don't have time to do this we can certainly set up a time to talk on the phone or visit before or after school.
Remember you are part of our classroom too!
Thanks again!
My phone number is: (720) 810-1363 and my email is jlei456@mac.com Please do feel free to contact me anytime.
